Meet Paul

Paul Stokes is a true thalassophile, having grown up on the beaches of Umhlanga Rocks (Rox) in South Africa — a coastal community known for producing top provincial and national surfers and home to a strong surf lifesaving culture. Naturally drawn to the ocean, Paul spent over 20 years as a full-time professional lifeguard, gaining extensive hands-on experience while working, competing, coaching, and instructing in South Africa, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. He finds immense purpose in introducing newcomers to the world of ocean sports, believing that with the right tuition, support, and mindset, anyone can learn to thrive in the water.

Still deeply connected to the sea, Paul enjoys a balanced life of competitive and recreational paddling — whether solo or with friends. His decades of experience, coupled with his strong relationships with both manufacturers and customers, have shaped his commitment to supplying premium products tailored to each individual's needs and abilities. For Paul, it’s not just about selling gear — it’s about empowering others through the stoke of ocean sports.
