Nordic Kayaks (NK) are a Swedish company, dedicated to the development, manufacturing and marketing of state-of-the-art surfskis. They will make you feel like you are flying over the water and carving through those waves, making your paddling experience a blast. NK Surfskis are made with Prepreg and autoclave technique, a process often used for the space industry and F1 racing cars. The high pressure (up to 4x atmospheric pressure) and heat from the autoclave together with the pre-impregnated carbon fibres gives an unmatched lamination of composite creating an extraordinary light yet strong construction, not comparable with other techniques normally used for surfskis and kayaks such as vacuum infusion or other hand lay-up processes. This is then supplemented by the knowledge of successful athletes, that flows directly into the design and construction of NK surfskis. A bit of history. NK Skis were founded in 2006 in Vaxholm on the Swedish east coast, by Fredrik Lindström and Peter Bringby. Disappointed with the multi-sport kayaks commercially available at the time, they set out to design and shape their own product, which would build upon their extensive experience of all kinds of fast kayaks from the mid 90s, from Olympics K1s to multisport kayaks, and surfskis. The result was the Rocket – an all out racer that pushed the edge. At the same time, Rocket indicated a path to further the efficiency of future hull shapes and to better the interaction between the future NK surfski and a paddler with great speed and agility. To meet this potential and make full use of the knowledge and experience gained during the first years, a team of hydrodynamic experts, CAD-engineers, graphic designers and elite paddlers was put together to lay out the basic specs for a long term cooperation in developing a new line of very fast and efficient surfskis. First out were the well-known and innovative Fusion and Rapido, later succeeded by Nitro, Storm, Squall and Exrcize. Now Nordic Kayaks proudly offer a complete range of surfskis from elite to beginner models, for smaller and larger paddler, thus making sure there is an NK model that suits YOUR individual needs and parameters.
